In the last two NYC Mayoral elections, the Democratic nominee won by more than 30% each time. The winner of the Democratic primary in June 2021 is nearly certain to become the next Mayor of NYC.

New York law says that any voter who is not registered as a Democrat by February 14, 2021 cannot vote in the Democratic primary. Voters not registered with the Democratic Party will be shut out and likely have no say in choosing the next Mayor.
